Green Energy- Solar

In 2002 and 2003 Whole Foods added Solar Panels to the roofs of three stores:

1) Woodland Hills (largest solar array on a grocery store in the US)

2) 3rd and Fairfax in Los Angeles

3) Brentwood

Each project benefited from solar energy rebates given by LADWP and SoCal Gas. Each installation was done by California Associated Power under the supervision of Mike Cullen (818)957-8961. All the Solar Panels were assembled by Shell Solar at their Chatsworth, California plant. Each store has a "solarbration" sign at the front of the store, which shows the amount of solar energy being created on their roof.

Many other green energy alternatives are currently being explored and adopted.
